United Nations has finally released the statistics of the number of Kenya Defense forces who perished during the El Adde attack.
In a 274-page report, the United Nations monitoring group on Friday also disclosed that there are some Kenyan soldiers still being held hostage by the Al Shabaab terrorist group.
newsinisdeAs revealed by UN, the said soldiers were captured during a raid at the El Adde attack on KDF base in January this year. According to the material report, at least 150 Kenyan soldiers were butchered in the Northern town of Somalia.
“Ever since the KDF soldiers were attacked and abducted, the group has received crucial information concerning the conflicting whereabouts and status of the captive soldiers, which is shared with the authorities through an intermediary,” the report read in part.
Recently, the Islamist terror group released a disheartening video of one of the abducted Kenyan soldiers who was recorded requesting the Kenyan government to re-negotiate the withdrawal of Kenyan troops from Somalia and also for his release.
“As Kenyan soldiers, we obeyed instructions from our seniors and crossed border into Somalia. We further went ahead to El Adde base where we were attacked on January 15th.
We tried fighting but we were finally defeated and our weapons seized,” the KDF pleaded in the recording.
