German Chancellor Dr. Angela Merkel has stated her two-day official visit to Ethiopia today.
Merkel will hold talks with Prime Minister Hailemariam Desalegn.
Their talks will focus on cementing the longstanding all-round relations of the two countries, including trade and investment, as well as on regional peace and security.
Merkel will also inaugurate the new Julius Nyerere Peace and Security Building on the campus of the African Union today.
She will address representatives from AU member states and the diplomatic corps in the new plenary hall of the AU Peace and Security Council.
