The Black Maidens have walloped Djibouti 9-0 in their FIFA U17 Women’ World Cup qualifier first leg tie played on Friday afternoon.

Captain Mukarama Abdulai’s hattrick and goals from Suzzy Teye, Abigail Tutuwaa, Jacqueline Owusu, Mumuni Feseina, Milot Abena Pokua and Adama Alhassan gave Ghana a solid win over the Djiboutians.

The win does not only put the Black Maidens in pole position for qualification to the World Cup but also but is also their biggest win since 2008.

Coach Evans Adoley’s squad have been training at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence in Prampram ahead of the game and had a feel of the pitch where they will face their Djiboutians counterparts.

Ghana beat Gambia 7-1 aggregate before making it to the final round of the World Cup qualifiers.

Ghana will host the return leg match which will be played at the Cape Coast Stadium on February 18.
