Upper House elects it’s Speaker, Deputy Speakers

Mogadishu (HOL) – Abdi Hashi Abdullah was elected as the Speaker of the Upper House securing 43 of the possible 52 votes on Sunday. He previously served as a minister in the Somaliland government.
Also, Former Goobjoog CEO Abshir Ahmed Bukhari was elected as the first deputy speaker after three rounds of voting.

With the conclusion of the vote, both Upper and Lower House of the Federal Parliament will be complete paving the way for the election of the President of Somalia .
